Worldnet’s coming home

The IFA are pleased to announce that Worldnet is coming home. The 2017 event will return to Nottingham, home to the first ever Worldnet tournament in 1996. It is also great news that the Big Tam Vets Tournament has been re-united with the main tournament for the first time since 2012 and both events will take place at the Nottingham University Riverside Sports on the weekend of July 15th and 16th.

The new venue currently hosts the Nottingham International Cup each year, a tournament that is host to many of our clubs youth teams. The facility has 2 brand new Pavilions, with changing rooms, first aid room and a meeting room facility which we hope to utilise with daytime activities. The Pavilion also has a small raised balcony overlooking some of the pitches. 4 of the pitches have a pitch side fence and dugouts. We will be looking to bring in daytime events and maybe some live bands.

We will also have some on site catering options at the pitches that include burgers/hot dogs etc, plus salad/fruit bar, noodle bar and jacket potatoes. Again, feedback from last year showed people want better options. Accommodation will be available at the Nottingham University Sports Village. A range of Halls of residence and hotel options are available.

Registration is now open for both events and teams are asked to complete the form below to register initial interest.

The form gives the options for main comp, vets, both comps and if you plan to use the university halls of residence. If you are entering two teams in the same comp,  please complete 2 forms.

The IFA committee would like to thank Andrew Kilduff for his efforts in getting Worldnet 2017 and the Big Tam Vets up and running. Jimmy from Preston and Simon from Grimsby will be joining the Worldnet committee to assist Andrew with preparations for both tournaments.
