Following the announcement of the end of national lockdown in England, we’re pleased to confirm that the IFA League season will re-start on Saturday 5th December.
As a result of the guidelines released last week, only teams in tier 1 or 2 of the Covid-19 restrictions for England will be able to play matches and all matches must be played under strict adherence to the IFA Covid-19 Code of Behaviour
Teams are reminded that the league finish date had already been extended until 26th June 2021 which still gives ample time for a fair competition, even if matches for teams in Scotland and the areas of England in tier 3 do not resume until Spring.
We will continue to monitor the situation north of the border and in the tier 3 areas and will make further announcements if necessary. We look forward to seeing those teams back in action as soon as possible.
The committee have also taken the opportunity to amend the rules on reporting results, specifically the timeline for doing so. All results must now be reported by 5pm on the Monday following your match.
Eg: Results for matches played on Saturday Dec 5 must be announced using the appropriate form by 5pm on Monday Dec 7.
