We are saddened to announce to the IFA community that our flagship events, WorldNet and BigTamVets, have been cancelled for 2020 due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
This cancellation, the first of it’s kind since WorldNet began in 1996, is in-line with government advice and has been made in conjunction with our hosts at the University of Nottingham to ensure of the safety of all participants involved. We will be in touch with all team organisers individually regarding entry refunds and next steps.
We now look ahead to planning the 2021 event which will encompass both the 25th anniversary and the 25th edition of the Worldnet weekend and will shortly announce full details, once the new dates have been confirmed with our partners at the University of Nottingham.
We can also confirm at this point that we have agreed as a Committee to conclude the IFA League season at this point, with the IFA British Cup and any outstanding Regional Cups to be completed when it is safe to do so, hopefully later in this calendar year.
We would like to congratulate KaisAyr of Ayr United who become British League champions for the first time and become just the third team from Scotland to win the British League since it’s inception in 1997. KaisAyr also take home the Scottish Regional League title and Bury FC take the English League title.
At this point, we are unable to give a definitive start date for the next IFA League season until it is safe to do so. The committee is keeping across government updates regarding team sports and will communicate with teams accordingly, once a decision has been made.
