The IFA continues to monitor both the latest government advice and updates from the professional football world in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following last weekend’s announcement regarding lockdown in England, coupled with the existing suspension of adult grass roots football in Scotland, the IFA 2020/21 season will be suspended until further notice.
The IFA committee remains hopeful that matches can restart soon and will lift the suspension as and when teams on either side of the border are able to start playing matches.
Teams are reminded that the league finish date had already been extended until 26th June 2021, which still gives ample time for a fair competition, even if matches do not resume until Spring.
